Dorota Piontek, Ph.D.
The adjunct professor at the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and in the Warsaw School of Social Sciences and Humanities/SWPS. She holds a doctoral degree in international communication, preparing her senior Ph.D. thesis in political communication. The secretary of Poznań branch of Polish Society of Political Science (1998-2003), the editor of “Athenaeum” journal, the head of the Post-Graduate Spokespersons Programme (1997-2009), the spokesperson of the Institute of Political Science and Journalism at the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań (1997-2007), the member of the Rector’s Commission for Information and Promotion of Adam Mickiewicz University. The recipient of Rector’s Award for teaching excellence (2003). The author and editor of four compilations and of dozens of scholarly articles devoted to political science and media research. Her main scholarly interests are: relationships between political communication and popular culture, the tabloidization of political discourse, political marketing.
