prof. Michał Drożdż, senior Ph.D.

The associate professor in the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Cracow, the director of the Institute of the Journalism and Social Communication and the head of the Section of Media and Social Communication in the Faculty of Social Science in the Pontifical University JP II. He is a catholic priest, the lecturer of philosophy, mass media and social communication theory, media theology. He holds a Ph.D. degree in philosophy of science and nature; senior Ph.D. of human science within the scope of knowledge and social communication. His main scholarly interests are: axiology of mass media and social communication; media philosophy; media ethics; philosophical aspects of information and media theory together with those of relationship between John Paul II and media; philosophy of science and philosophy of nature; ethics; philosophy of knowledge. He is the author of dozens of articles and of ten books concerning philosophy of science, philosophy of media, media theory, media ethics etc. (Faktizität und Möglichkeit (2001); Osoba i media. Personalistyczny paradygmat etyki mediów (2004), Logos i ethos mediów. Dyskurs paradygmatyczny filozofii mediów (2005), Media. He is the head of the section of axiology of communication in PCA, the vice-director of Polish Association of Media and Journalism Education, the member of Polish Journalist Association, the regular member of few scientific associations both Polish and international.
